Poets in School

Raymond's Page

Hello! I'm Raymond. I'm Road and Office Manager for James and Geraldine. They need me because they are very disorganised (like most poets and other artists!).
My job is to remind them where they're going, where they are, where they've been, what they're doing and who they are...
I often take pictures of schools to remind them. Some of them have very hurtful signs (if you are a dog).

We live near Dover Castle. At weekends we often walk up the hill on which it stands. There are lots of interesting things to do and see there. I like Dover Castle in the snow. I can slide down banks.
There is a Roman light house there. It is very high up so that it can be seen by ships far out to sea. They used to keep a fire burning in it all the time, like a giant candle.

From up here we can see the sea. It's the English Channel. We can see France if it's a clear day, and we can watch all the cross-channel ferries and other ships as well as the little boats in the harbour. We always feed the birds here. We bring bread for the seagulls and peanuts for the jackdaws. They wait for us on the wall.
This is a bouncing bomb, in the castle, from the Second World War. The man who invented this bomb used to like throwing stones at the sea and making them bounce across the surface of the water, which you can do if you throw them at just the right angle. He used this idea to make bombs like this that would bounce along the surface of the water to blow up a dam. They were dropped from planes flying at exactly the correct height, so they hit the water at the right angle.

This is me sitting on the table next to Bert the Baby. I'm helping James. He needs a lot of help. Geraldine was taking the photo. She needs a lot of help too...

I like exploring the schools we visit. This one had a big totem pole in the lobby. Can you see where I am?!

I spend a lot of time in a certain hotel when I'm on the road and I'm looking for a sponsorship deal...

Sometimes I help with putting things in the wardrobe...

It can get quite cold at night in a strange hotel...

I have a lot of hobbies...

Hopscotch

Football

Playing the guitar (that's my brother, Martin, on the table by the way - he helps me now and then)

I've also taken up flying recently...
